Come this weekend, the top '09s in the New England District (comprised of every New England state except for Massachusetts, which is deemed a separate district by USA Hockey) will battle at New England District boys camp.
The goal: Make USA Hockey's Select 17 Camp, which will be held July 7-13 in Amherst, N.Y.
This is also a great opportunity for '09s who are uncommitted to get in some strong viewings before the summer. College coaches and QMJHL and USHL scouts will be watching closely.
A handful of the '09s are already committed, but many aren't.
Here are 18 to keep an eye on this weekend.
Tyler Beaudoin
Westminster, 3/30/2009, F, right shot, 5-7/150
Hometown: Berlin, Conn.Â
Beaudoin had five goals and 13 points in 25 games for Westminster this weekend. Historically, however, he's been a top producer at USA Hockey Select Camps. At Select 15 Camp two summers ago, he had two goals and five points in four games, while he posted five more points at Select 16s last summer.
Anthony Brunetti
St. Mark's, 7/12/2009, F, left shot, 6-1/185
Hometown: Lewiston, MaineÂ
On a deep St. Mark's squad, Brunetti got solid depth minutes and proved to be valuable with six goals and 15 points. He has intriguing size, and his skating makes him someone to watch as a breakout candidate in prep next season. He has never attended a USA Hockey Select Camp.

Sam Chartier
Williston Northampton, 1/30/2009, D, right shot, 5-11/183
Hometown: Saunderstown, R.I.Â
Chartier, who has been at the last two Select Camps, was a leader on defense for Williston this season with three goals and 15 points. He's a do-it-all defender who skates well.
Colton Cleaves
Brunswick, 8/31/2009, F, left shot, 5-10/150
Hometown: Riverside, Conn.Â
Cleaves' stock has risen over the last few months. He finished strong with Brunswick, scoring eight goals and posting 20 points in 32 games. His patience and poise with the puck off the wing consistently make his linemates better and create scoring chances. Cleaves had a goal and five assists in five games at Select 16 Camp last summer. His older brothers Hank and Cooper play for Dartmouth, while his sister Chloe is a Yale commit.
Colin Freeman
Seacoast Performance Academy 16U, 4/18/2009, D, left shot, 5-9/161
Hometown: Danvers, Mass.Â
Freeman was at Select 16 Camp last summer, where he had a goal and an assist in five games. He's been a crafty defenseman for SPA over the last three seasons. This winter, he had two goals and 19 points in 39 games for the 16U squad.
Ethan Gingeleskie
Avon Old Farms, 6/2/2009, F, right shot, 5-11/165
Hometown: West Hartford, Conn.Â
When healthy, Gingeleskie is a lethal scorer from high-danger areas. He was a force for Avon this winter with 11 goals and 18 points in 14 games. He had four assists at Select 16 Camp last summer and was at Select 15s the year before.
Julian Herrera
St. Mark's, 3/13/2009, G, catches left, 6-3/178
Hometown: Providence, R.I.Â
Herrera had a nice season for St. Mark's with a 1.77 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. The Providence native is slated to move to Williston Northampton next season.
Ethan Hung
Hotchkiss, 8/9/2009, D, left shot, 6-2/194
Hometown: Fairfield, Conn.Â
Hung's two-way abilities and his frame make him such an interesting prospect. He's an apt puck-mover under pressure on breakouts, and his great stick takes away passing lanes and prohibits opposing players from having much space. He had four points this winter for Hotchkiss and has been at both Select 15 and 16 Camp.

James Jackson
Brunswick, 2/9/2009, F, right shot, 5-10/161
Hometown: Darien, Conn.Â
Jackson broke out this winter with Brunswick, scoring seven goals and tallying 24 points in 34 games. His production was prevalent last summer when he had a goal and four points in five games at Select 16 Camp last summer.
Cam Minella
Halifax Mooseheads, 8/29/2009, D, left shot, 5-11/163
Hometown: Darien, Conn.Â
Minella is still uncommitted because he isn't eligible to get an offer until Aug. 1. After standing out with Brunswick and Mid Fairfield last season, Minella opted to challenge himself by going to the QMJHL with Halifax and putting up three goals and nine points in 64 games. He's an elite puck-moving defender.
Ryan Mogielnicki
Austin Prep, 9/15/2009, F, right shot, 5-11/168
Hometown: Hudson, N.H.Â
In his first season at Austin Prep, Mogielnicki exploded for 29 goals and 48 points in 32 games. The Hudson, N.H., native previously played for Bishop Guertin High and has never made a USA Hockey Select Camp.
Charlie Rodrigue
Taft, 4/8/2009, G, catches left, 5-9/146
Hometown: Shelton, Conn.Â
Rodrigue has been one of the better goalies the last two summers at Select Camps. At Select 16s, Rodrigue had a sparkling 1.98 GAA and a .945 save percentage. In limited games with Taft this season, he posted a 4.55 GAA and a .868 save percentage.
Grady Rowley
Mount St. Charles 16U, 7/21/2009, F, left shot, 5-10/174
Hometown: Cumberland, R.I.Â
Rowley was a depth scorer for the Mount '09s at the 14U and 15O levels. But when guys left for the U.S. NTDP and juniors, Rowley grabbed a top role with the 16Us and thrived with 21 goals and 60 points in 49 games. He's been at Select 15 and 16 Camps the last two summers.

Colton Simas
Deerfield, 3/22/2009, F, right shot, 5-10/165
Hometown: Coventry, R.I.Â
Simas can rip the puck. He was a high scorer with the 16U Providence Capitals in the fall (23 goals in 34 games). He had eight goals and 14 points in 24 games as a sophomore at Deerfield. While those numbers aren't eye-popping, Simas is great at finding soft spots in high-danger areas and should be a top scorer for the Big Green next winter. He has never been to a USA Hockey Select Camp.
Alex Strug
Deerfield, 5/1/2009, F, left shot, 5-9/154
Hometown: Westport, Conn.Â
Strug was a top scorer for Deerfield this winter with seven goals and 16 points in 23 games. The crafty forward had a goal and three points at Select 16 Camp last summer.
Jacob Turcotte
Winchendon, 5/12/2009, D, right shot, 5-10/163Â
Hometown: South Berwick, MaineÂ
Turcotte is a really good puck-moving defenseman who transitioned well from Seacoast Performance Academy to Winchendon this winter. He scored four times and tallied 13 points in 34 games for the high-scoring Wapitis. He was at Select 16 Camp last summer.
Brayden White
Williston Northampton, 2/16/2009, F, left shot, 6-0/172
Hometown: Cumberland, R.I.Â
White had a great freshman season in 2024-25 and broke out even more this past winter with 11 goals and 30 points in 26 games. White had an assist in five games at Select 16 Camp last summer. His frame and skill make him an intriguing prospect.

Dawson Wood
Kimball Union, 9/23/2009, F, right shot, 5-11/168
Hometown: Barrington, R.I.Â
Kimball Union is typically an older team. But even as a sophomore, Wood had nine goals and 19 points in 29 games this winter. The Barrington, R.I. native should be a top performer in prep next winter and has never attended a USA Hockey Select Camp.
