BEDFORD, Mass. — The 2026 Wizards Showcase is in the books.
The annual tournament, held at the Edge Sports Center in Bedford, Mass., is always among the top local events of the summer. This past weekend, 37 teams across the 14U, 16U and 19U age groups from Massachusetts, New England and beyond took the ice.
I made it out to the final day of games on Sunday, taking in action across the 16U and 19U age groups. It’s an especially key time for the rising juniors among those groups, as they look to separate themselves in front of college coaches. Rising juniors became eligible to be contacted by college coaches as well as commit on June 15.
Here are the games I caught among the 16Us:

- Boston Junior Eagles vs. Northern Prospects
- Assabet Valley vs. Massachusetts Spitfires

Maggie Grant
Assabet/Rivers, 05/2010, F, left shot, 5-5
Hometown: Belmont, Mass.
Grant was at the forefront of a flurry of chances for Assabet, generating quality looks throughout the game. She played with pace, consistently found open space in Grade-A ice and had a quick release. Grant also had several good chances on 2-on-1s. In the third, she found herself alone on the doorstep for a bang-bang chance that Avery Reimold somehow denied. Later, Grant drove in for a fantastic look on a 2-on-1, powering toward the left post and trying to roof one under the bar, but it rang the iron.

Charlotte McCafferty
Assabet/Milton Academy, 1/14/2011, D, left shot
Hometown: Winchester, Mass.Â
McCafferty was consistently effective on a shift-to-shift basis against the Spitfires. She moved the puck quickly and decisively on regroups, identifying passing lanes and leading forwards into space with good passes. She was also excellent at defending the rush. McCafferty did a great job of closing on puck carriers quickly, stepping up with quick feet or a good stick to take away space.
Ainsley Callahan
Massachusetts Spitfires/Portsmouth Abbey, Class of 2029, D, right shot, 5-5
Hometown: Medway, Mass.
Callahan had a good day on the defensive side of the puck. She played with high compete and was physical in battles around the net and below the dots. One of her best plays was stepping up with a well-timed poke check against Grant to prevent a shot as she cut across the middle. Callahan also got some quick shots from the point with the net empty late.
Jacqueline Louie
Northern Prospects/Phillips Andover, 4/4/2010, D, left shot, 5-5
Hometown: Dublin, Calif.
Louie was strong with and without the puck on Sunday. She recognized opportunities to skate the puck herself, taking open lanes if outlets didn't present themselves. Louie also had a good stick in the defensive zone, preventing lanes to the net and getting inside position and leverage to separate forwards from pucks.

Juliet Platt
Boston Junior Eagles/Nobles, 2011, F, right shot
Hometown: Brookline, Mass.
Platt was among the Junior Eagles' most effective skaters in a lopsided win over the Northern Prospects, finishing with a hat trick. Her first two goals were both second efforts in front, digging away for loose pucks in scrums. She finished the hat trick with a beauty. After some strong work for Madison Hutchins and Janvi Singh down low, Singh slipped a feed to Platt in the slot. She wasted no time roofing a quick release under the bar.
Parker Kathan
Boston Junior Eagles/Nobles, 05/2010, D, right shot, 5-4
Hometown: Medfield, Mass.
Kathan was strong in all three zones on Sunday. Her quick feet at the point and in the neutral zone helped her fill lanes, including when she stepped up and intercepted a stretch pass up the middle. Kathan also protected pucks well from forecheckers, quickly pulling to her backhand, using the length of her reach and getting inside position.
Lila Huggon
Northeast Generals/St. Mark's, 10/5/2010, F, right shot, 5-4
Hometown: Plymouth, Mass.
Huggon was the hero of the Generals' 3-3 tie with Team West, twice tying it late in regulation. She cashed in around the crease off an offensive zone draw to make it 2-2. In the closing moments, she came through again, driving hard to the net as Avery Frias drove wide down the wing. Huggon gained a step on her defender and got her stick on the ice to redirect the feed in front to salvage the draw. It was all a product of her hustle.

Riley Precourt
Northeast Generals/Dennis-Yarmouth, Class of 2029, F, left shot
Hometown: South Dennis, Mass.
Precourt was an effective forechecker on Sunday. She played with high compete and a quick stick, pressuring puck carriers and forcing turnovers. Early on, she took advantage of a giveaway, finding Caroline Wurzer in the slot for a one-time bid. Precourt stuck with it and found Abby Carter driving to the slot for another quality look. Later, Precourt found a slick passing lane off a won face-off for a shot from the point.
Olivia Collum
Northeast Generals/Thayer, Class of 2029, D, left shot
Hometown: Norwell, Mass.
Collum was strong at the attacking blue line with the net empty late. She kept multiple plays alive out high, including a fantastic keep-in with the full extent of her reach. On the late power play, Collum made quick decisions with the puck on D-to-D passes and high-low plays, and she found lanes for a couple of quick shots from the point.
Avery Reimold
Northeast Generals/Tabor, 2010, G, catches left
Hometown: Marion, Mass.
Reimold got the second half of the Spitfires' loss to Assabet, and she was sensational in keeping it a one-goal game, making several Grade-A saves. One of her best stops came against Grant on the doorstep, quickly stretching her blocker out and denying what looked to be a sure goal in tight. Reimold also stood tall in some late scrambles around the crease and made several key stops on shots through traffic.
