There was plenty of local flair at USA Hockey Tier 1 Nationals this past week.
Lovell Academy took home the girls 16U national championship with a 7-1 win over the East Coast Wizards. Annabelle Lovell (Hingham, Mass.) led the win with four points (two goals), while Aubryn Monter had a goal and two assists. Caroline Clark (York, Maine) scored a pair, and Remi Karsh had a goal and an assist, too. Olivia De Lisle made 23 saves in net, and Taryn Montgomery also scored. For the Wizards, Cushing's Bella Freitas (Everett, Mass.) scored from Phillips Exeter's Paisley Meyer (Greenland, N.H.) and Nobles' Nora Shea (Braintree, Mass.).
Meanwhile, the Boston Junior Eagles repeated as girls 14U champs with a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Lakers. The Eagles erased a 2-0 deficit behind a goal and an assist for Dexter Southfield's Abby Loring (Wellesley, Mass.), as well as goals for Milton High's Mia Cataruzolo (Milton, Mass.) and Dexter's Finley Kolaric (Quincy, Mass.). St. Mark's Melanie Allen (Norwood, Mass.) earned the win in net with 16 saves. Williston Northampton's Addy Boczenowski (Woburn, Mass.) and Thayer's Abby Macauley (Avon, Mass.) notched assists, too.
The New England representation went well beyond those three teams, though. Here's a look at how the local teams fared overall.
19U
Among the 19Us, Assabet Valley reached the semifinals, while NAHA and the Massachusetts Spitfires also qualified for the quarterfinals.
Dexter's Evelyn Doyle (Needham, Mass.), who is headed to Yale next season, led Assabet with 11 points (five goals) in five games, followed by Phillips Andover's Maggie Averill (Wayland, Mass.), a rising senior Princeton commit. She had nine points (five goals). Cushing's Madi Soderquist (Woburn, Mass./UNH), Groton's Tina Scalese (West Boylston, Mass.) and Andover's Caroline Averill (Wayland, Mass./Princeton) were each at a point-per-game or better. All are bound for the collegiate ranks next fall. Cushing rising senior Ines Khamis led Assabet goalies with a .952 save percentage and a 0.99 goals-against average in three appearances.
Quinn Taylor (Centerville, Mass.), who will head to Boston University, led NAHA with six points (four goals). Cassidy Lobisser (Bellingham, Mass./Quinnipiac), Danica Morden (Suffield, Conn./Sacred Heart) and Abigail Richardson (Clarkson) each had five points, while Teagan Flod also scored a point per game.

For the Spitfires, Andover's Sarah Powers led them with three points (two goals) in four games. She's headed to Boston College next season. Nobles' Gretta Hulbig (Foxboro, Mass./Yale), St. George's Maddie Lahah (North Attleboro, Mass./Yale), Rivers' Nora McLean (Canton, Mass.), Milton Academy's Mary Quatrale (Pembroke, Mass./Holy Cross) and BB&N's Anika Singh (Lexington, Mass./Brown) each had two points. All, except for McLean (a rising junior), are bound for the NCAA next season. Tabor rising senior Evelyn Lacey (Braintree, Mass./Brown) had a .941 save percentage and a 1.58 GAA in three starts.
Loomis Chaffee's Annie Schwarz (Fairfield, Conn.), who is bound for Yale, led the 19U Mid Fairfield Stars with six goals in three games. Deerfield's Sophie Frost was also at a point-per-game pace with three assists. She'll be at Yale next fall, too. Deerfield teammates Chloe Cleaves (Riverside, Conn./Yale) and Keira Austen (Darien, Conn./Brown), as well as Choate's Annie Forker (Stratford, Conn./Assumption), each had two points. All three are set to graduate, too.
For the Connecticut Polar Bears, six skaters posted two points apiece, including Choate's Juliana Iannace, Claire Chanfrau and Maggie Swanson (Fairfield, Conn./Williams), as well as Kent's Kate McKiernan (Glastonbury, Conn.). Swanson and McKiernan are slated to graduate, while Iannace and Chanfrau are rising seniors. Berkshire rising senior Katie Hurley (St. Cloud State) posted a .922 save percentage and a 1.57 GAA in three starts.
Two uncommitted skaters led the East Coast Wizards. New Hampton rising senior Emma MacPherson (Sandwich, Mass.) had three points (two goals) in three games. Nobles senior Rachel Zhao (Westwood, Mass.) had a goal and an assist.

As for other local connections, Jane Daley (Medfield, Mass./Ohio State) tied for the lead among Shattuck-St. Mary's skaters, posting seven points (three goals) in six games. Emma Cerruti (Norwell, Mass/Wisconsin) had three assists, and Kate Hall (Greenwich, Conn./Cornell) had two goals. Princeton commit Erin Healy (South Burlington, Vt.) had two assists for the BK Selects.
16U
Three of the final four teams in the 16U bracket were from Massachusetts, as the Boston Americans also made the semifinals.
For Lovell Academy, Wisconsin commit Chyna Taylor and Lovell, a Minnesota commit, each had 13 points in six games. Lovell had nine goals. Monter, a Penn State commit, also had eight points (one goal) in six games, while Karsh, a Yale commit, had seven points (two goals). Clark, a Syracuse commit, had four points (three goals). De Lisle went 4-0-0 with a .947 save percentage, a 1.15 GAA and one shutout.
For the Wizards, Williston rising senior Mia Daley (Lynnfield, Mass./Yale) had nine points (six goals) in six games. Tabor rising junior Giuliana Polcari (Marshfield, Mass.) had eight points (four goals), while Freitas had seven points (five goals). Shea and St. Paul's rising sophomore Kelsey MacPherson (Hopkinton, Mass.) each had five points. Meyer posted four assists.

A trio of Nobles skaters led the way for the Americans. Rising juniors Catherine McCool (West Roxbury, Mass.) and Francie Ames (Brookline, Mass.) set the pace. McCool had 12 points (four goals) in five games, while Ames had nine points (five goals). Rising senior Lily Bromley (Carlisle, Mass./Princeton) had seven points (five goals). Three other skaters had seven points, including Rivers rising junior Simone Burns (Winchester, Mass.), Thayer rising junior Maddy Call (Dedham, Mass.) and Tabor rising junior Grace Hildebrandt (Norwell, Mass.).
Five skaters scored at a point-per-game or better for the Connecticut Polar Bears. Williston rising senior Brooke Schlutter (Cornell) and Loomis rising sophomore Scarlett Roberston each had four points in three games. Taft rising junior Selkie Brown, as well as Loomis rising sophomore Sophie DiGioia (Milford, Conn.) and rising junior Elyse Harris, each had three points.
Genevieve Walsh (Fairfield, Conn.) led the BK Selects with five points (four goals) in four games. Andie Hall (Greenwich, Conn.) had two points in three games for Shattuck-St. Mary's.
14U
The Wizards also reached the semifinals in the 14U bracket.
Loring led the Junior Eagles with seven points (four goals) in six games, while Macauley had six points (two goals). Arlington Catholic standout Amelia Paes had five points (two goals). Cataruzolo and BB&N rising sophomore Janvi Singh (Lexington, Mass.) each had three points (two goals). Boczenowski finished with two assists. In net, Allen had a .952 save percentage and a 1.01 GAA in four appearances, going 3-1-0 with a shutout.

Groton rising sophomore Ava Barbour led the Wizards with six points (two goals) in five games. Lucy Pisuk, an '11 forward, and Mackenzie Tierney (Belmont, Mass.), an '11 forward from Belmont High, each had five points (four goals). Williston rising sophomore Ashley Anderson (Wilmington, Mass.) and Audrey Shea (Braintree, Mass.), an '11 defender from Braintree High, each had three points. Avery Wightman, an '11, had a .927 save percentage and a 1.79 GAA in net.
Adella Ula, a '12 forward, led the Mid Fairfield Stars with two points (one goal) in three games.
