Recently hired St. Lawrence head coach Brent Brekke has made his first addition to his coaching staff.
Brekke has tabbed Holy Cross assistant coach Tommy Hill to be one of his two assistants in Canton. The two worked together at Miami where Brekke was an associate head coach and Hill was the Director of Hockey Operations.
Hill, 32, played college hockey at Ferris State from 2008-2012. The Portage, Mich., native leaves Holy Cross after just one season. The other new assistant at St. Lawrence could also be coming from the Atlantic Hockey ranks, but absolute confirmation could not be made.
Holy Cross has already moved quickly to find Hill’s replacement, according to multiple sources. Crusaders head coach Dave Berard will reportedly hire Notre Dame volunteer assistant coach Max Mobley.
Somewhat ironically, Mobley, 31, played college hockey at St. Lawrence, graduating in 2012. Prior to this season as a volunteer for Jeff Jackson’s Fighting Irish, Mobley was an assistant coach for four seasons at Hamilton College.
Army, Clarkson, Colgate, Merrimack and RPI remain with open assistant positions.
