KINGSTON, Mass. — Some of the state's best girls high school hockey teams rang in the new year with the conclusion of the fourth annual Tenney Cup at the Bog on Wednesday.
Hingham took home this season's title in a dramatic 2-1 win over crosstown foe Notre Dame (Hingham), the defending champions.
Hingham sophomore Callie Crean scored the game-winner on the power play with three minutes left in regulation. Her wrister from the slot rang the left post before ricocheting off NDA goalie Erin Kral's (Whitman, Mass.) back and in. It seemed to be the only way the Harborwomen could beat Kral, who stood tall for the Cougars after surrendering an early goal.
There was no shortage of drama in the consolation, either, with Ava Baker (North Reading, Mass.) scoring the game-winner for Malden Catholic with 3.5 seconds remaining in regulation for a 2-1 win over Duxbury. Baker was also the hero in a 2-1 upset over Duxbury last winter, scoring with 15 seconds left in that game.
Bishop Feehan shut out Sandwich, 2-0, in the fifth-place game, and Archbishop Williams took down Milton, 7-1, in the seventh-place game.

Before we highlight some defenders and goalies later this week, let's dive into nine standout forwards from the day.
Meg Carney
Duxbury, Class of 2025, F, right shot
Duxbury's top line with Carney, Zoey Madigan and Addy Harrington was dominant against MC, and Carney was one of the best players on the ice. She did a great job of using her size to her advantage to fend off defenders and generate chances. She was part of a few Grade-A chances in the first, using her long strides to push past the defense before trying to go forehand-backhand in tight. Moments later, she set up Madigan in the slot before stripping the puck out high to keep the pressure up, and Madigan eventually fed her alone in front for a chance that rang the post.
In the third, Carney was strong in front of the net on the power play. She nearly set up Harrington for a late go-ahead goal, slipping a terrific feed to her for a one-timer in the slot.

Zoey Madigan
Duxbury, Class of 2025, F, right shot
Madigan was everywhere for the Dragons. She was a force on the forecheck, thanks to her skating allowing her to close on puck carriers quickly. She and Carney nearly combined on a couple high-danger chances in the first. During a 4-on-4 in the second, Madigan smartly took advantage of the extra ice when she cut to the middle for a good backhand. In the third, she couldn't solve MC goalie Megan Mullarkey (Wilmington, Mass.) on multiple chances in the slot, including a one-timer off a feed from Harrington.
Hannah Lasch
Hingham, Class of 2027, F, right shot
Lasch was arguably Hingham's best player against NDA. She was strong on the forecheck, creating pressure and speeding up NDA's defenders. She also drew a couple penalties, too, including a trip in the second after some smooth edgework to cut into the slot.
If not for Kral's big night in net, she could have had multiple goals, too. She nearly doubled Hingham's early lead when she pounced on a loose puck in front early on. She got another chance alone in the slot after forcing a turnover, trying to go upstairs, but Kral was square to her the whole way. In the third, Lasch made a nice cut-back in transition to shake a defender inside the blue line, walking in alone before Kral robbed her again. Kral had her number again on a quality wrist shot from the right circle a few shifts later.
Callie Crean
Hingham, Class of 2027, F, right shot
Crean was the hero for the Harborwomen, capping off a strong night for her and her line with Lasch and Katie Teague. What stood out the most for Crean was her heavy shot and her ability to get quality shots in stride. It showed on a couple good looks early on, and it paid off on her game-winner. She got the puck in the high slot, closed and ripped a hard wrister off the post before it ricocheted in off Kral. Crean had another good chance moments before, changing speeds off the rush and driving around the defense for a nice look in tight.

Caroline Doherty
Hingham, 8/13/06, F, right shot, 5-6
NCAA: Holy Cross
Doherty was a major offensive driver for Hingham, creating several strong scoring chances for herself and her teammates. She played with a ton of confidence, constantly scanning the ice and looking to make plays.
She set up Shea Richardson to open the scoring, providing good support along the boards and digging the puck out before driving to the middle and feeding Richardson in the slot. Doherty combined with center Addy Garrity for a pair of strong chances as well. In the first, she kept her head up, looked off the shot and fed Garrity for a one-timer on a 2-on-1. In a give-and-go with Richardson out high in the third, Doherty drove to the slot and fed Garrity for a shot at the left circle. Doherty had a chance to give Hingham the lead in the second, getting a breakaway and drawing a penalty shot. She had her spot picked, beating Kral under the glove with a hard snap shot, but it rang the post.
Elle Ferguson
Malden Catholic, Class of 2026, F, left shot
Ferguson (Natick, Mass.) opened the scoring for the Lancers against Duxbury just two minutes into the game with a nice finish to a smooth sequence. She found a skating lane in the neutral zone, putting herself in a perfect spot for Baker's stretch pass. She motored into the zone off the rush and scored with a quick, accurate wrister to the top corner from the left dot.
Emily Coughlin
Notre Dame (Hingham), Class of 2025, F, right shot, 5-2
Coughlin (Marshfield, Mass.) came through with the equalizer for NDA late in the first, jamming it in at the right post. She played with high energy and pace, constantly putting the Harborwomen defenders on their heels. She had a huge burst of speed through the neutral zone in the third, nearly getting a breakaway, but a strong defensive effort thwarted the chance.
Jocelyn Gray
Notre Dame (Hingham), Class of 2028, F, right shot
Gray's (Hanover, Mass.) speed was impressive, and she had a good connection going with fellow freshman Chase Harmon (Bourne, Mass.). In the second, Gray led a good rush with a ton of speed, backing up the defense, faking a shot and dropping to Harmon for a one-timer that rang the post. She led another strong rush later in the period, driving wide into the offensive zone and slipping a great pass to Harmon for a backdoor one-timer that didn't quite connect.

Ceci Tremante
Duxbury, Class of 2028, F, right shot
Tremante scored the equalizer for Duxbury just a minute after Ferguson's goal. She did a good job leading the rush, gaining the offensive zone with possession before weaving through the defense. She scored with a wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle that squeezed through Mullarkey. It bounced off the post and her back before going in.
