The Kevin Mutch Christmas Tournament is here and it’s always a great event.
From Friday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 18, eight teams converge on St. Sebastian’s in Needham, Mass., to compete.
All eight teams have different players who will catch the attention of onlookers.
Here’s the full schedule for the weekend.

Here’s a team-by-team breakdown of the tournament.
Albany Academy
Albany Academy enters the tournament red-hot at 6-1-0. The Cadets have wins over Berkshire, Andover, Pomfret, Trinity-Pawling, Wilbraham & Monson and Rice Memorial. The lone loss came to the Springfield Jr. Thunderbirds.
Forwards Austin Jerzak and Ryan Wead lead the team in goals with five each. Jerzak is tied with teammate Michael Malatino for the most points on the team (8). Luke Kurdziolek and Lorenzo Marra have also been valuable members of the offensive attack with seven points each.

On defense, senior Jack Darby and junior Leo Letta have been vital. Darby has three goals and three assists, while Letta had two goals and five points.
Seniors Will Mizenko and Devin Shakar have split time in between the pipes. Mizenko has stopped 92 of the 102 pucks sent his way, while Shakar has turned aside 103 of the 111 shots on him.
Brunswick
The Bruins are 2-4-0. Their wins came against Exeter and New Hampton, while the losses came to Loomis Chaffee, Kent, Westminster and South Kent.
Up front, all eyes are on Harvard commit Drew DellaSalla. The Rye, N.Y., native has four goals and nine points in six games. Right behind him has been junior forward Brendan Giles (Ridgefield, Conn.) with two goals and eight points and senior forward James Shannon (Greenwich, Conn.) with four goals and seven points.
Senior defender Sloan Farmer (Old Greenwich, Conn.) has two goals, while fellow senior defenseman Nikolas Cadoret (Stamford, Conn.) has four assists.
In net, senior Brendan Holahan (New Canaan, Conn.) has gotten the majority of reps, with a 3.63 goals against average and .888 save percentage. In 111 minutes of play, junior Will Baker (Norwalk, Conn.) has stopped 58 of the 62 shots sent his way.
Northwood
Northwood enters the tournament at 22-13-3 since its squad has been playing games since Sept. 10.
Northwood’s best run came from Sept. 25 to Oct. 16 when it won nine games in a row, with victories over South Kent U18, Stanstead College and the New Jersey Rockets U18.

Since then, Northwood has gone 10-10-3. A good performance in this tournament is sure to fix that.
Rivers
While head coach Freddy Meyer’s team lost its first four games of the season against St. Sebastian’s, Thayer, Kimball Union and St. George’s, the Red Wings have since won games against Groton and Portsmouth Abbey.
Junior forward Brett Stone (Woburn, Mass.) leads the team in points with four. Junior forwards Cayden Miceli (Natick, Mass.) and Jacob Kulas (Stow, Mass.) have two goals and three points each.
On defense, seniors Luke Swaim (Concord, Mass.) and Alex Fookson (Natick, Mass.) both have a goal and two assists each. Junior defender Ryan Ferguson (Stow, Mass.) has two assists.
There’s been an even split in net with juniors Jason Delehoy and Brendan Nee. Delehoy has a 2.26 GAA and .908 save percentage, while Nee is right behind him with a 2.68 GAA and .857 save percentage.
St. Andrew’s College
St. Andrew’s College is a New England prep affiliate team based out of Aurora, Ontario. In total, St. Andrew’s College is 11-9-0. The team has been playing games since Aug. 25.
Anselmo Rego, an ‘05, has been lighting up the scoresheet with 19 goals and 36 points in 20 games. Jonathan Castagna, also an ‘05, and Dean Letourneau, an ‘06, have also been vital in St. Andrew’s College’s offensive attack. Castagna has 12 goals and 30 points, while Letourneau has 12 goals and 28 points.

On defense, head coach David Manning has enjoyed production from ‘05 Francesco Dell’Elce with six goals and 17 points and ‘06 Rory Gilmour, who has five goals and 15 points.
Daniel Salmivuori, an ‘04, and ‘06 Liam Furey split time in net. Salmivuori’s numbers are slightly better, as he has a 3.55 GAA and .893 save percentage.
St. Sebastian’s
The Arrows enter their own tournament at 4-1-0. The wins came against Rivers, Portsmouth Abbey, Exeter and Brooks. The lone loss came to Milton Academy in the second game of the season.
Matt Cataldo (Norfolk, Mass.) leads the charge offensively with his six goals and 10 points in five games. Isaac Mitchell (Harvard, Mass.) and Teddy Mutryn (Norwell, Mass.), his linemates, both have nine points. That trio has suffocated opposing teams. Mutryn was named Best Skater last week in the ISL Keller by New England Hockey Journal.
Junior defenseman Jack Harney (Needham, Mass.) has a goal and three points, while junior defender Aidan Connors (Westborough, Mass.) has three assists.
Pelle Russo (West Newton, Mass.) has been outstanding with a 0.83 GAA and .974 save percentage in 259 minutes between the pipes.
Williston-Northampton
The Wildcats head to St. Sebastian’s at 2-4-1. They beat Vermont Academy and Academie Saint-Louis. The four losses were against Avon Old Farms, Salisbury, Frederick Gunn and Northfield Mount Hermon. The one tie came in impressive fashion at Cushing.
Postgrad forward TJ Sullivan (Melrose, Mass.) leads the squad in goals with six. Senior forward Felix-Antoine Bouchard leads the team in points with nine. Fellow senior forward Emmanuel Damianakis has also been vital with his four goals in six games.

On defense, junior Wes Haynes (Boylston, Mass.) has five assists. Alexandre Pellerin has a goal and four points.
Postgrad Tyler Kirk has played slightly more than junior Jake Henry in net. Kirk has a 3.28 GAA and .910 save percentage.
Winchendon
Winchendon has struggled, as it enters the tournament 0-5-1. After tying its opening game against New Hampton, Winchendon has lost to Cushing, St. Mark’s, Thayer, BB&N and St. George’s.
Senior forward Matt Mahoney (Norfolk, Mass.) leads the team in goals with three. Fellow senior forward Cole Roenick (Exeter, N.H.) leads the team in points with five. Junior forward Brock Bergeron (Lewiston, Maine) has also been helpful with his goal and three assists.

While the numbers haven’t been staggering from the point, postgrad defenseman Nick Calandra (Auburn, N.H.) has a goal and both Jake Freelove (Tyngsborough, Mass.) and Ben Andersen (Harrisville, R.I.) have assists.
Juniors Theo Clement and Giovanni Calvanese (Springfield, Mass.) have seen time in net.
