What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

“I played for one youth hockey team growing up, Pro Ambitions hockey in Nashua, N.H. Very few players do that anymore. I had the same coaches from Squirts to high school coaches — Murray Tardif, Troy Kolden and former pro Jeff Serowik for skills. They coached me until I started at St. John’s Prep. We have four players on that team who played together for years, going D1 in college sports, and probably a fifth. All of the other guys are playing college lacrosse; I am the only one playing hockey.”

Do you have any phobias?

“Yes, I hate bugs.”

If you could hang out with any celebrity, who would it be?

“Tom Brady. I like his work ethic and obviously his success. His draft status significantly underestimated his ability to play pro football. He plays to win every game, and he seems calm in all game situations. He proved people wrong.”

What’s your favorite hangout spot on campus?

“The 304 connection in the Densmore dorm at KUA. Loved hanging with Billy Young from Canada and Jack McCarthy, who will be joining me at Brown University. It was the hockey boys room. You could say I made that dorm room a triple, spent many nights there during the hockey season.”

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you on the ice?

“At the end of a KUA game this season, I kind of fell backwards on my butt for no reason. Unfortunately it was caught on film. Coach Tim Whitehead must have shown it 50 times in our KUA film review, over, over and over … it was pretty embarrassing.”

If you could be a superhero, who would you be and why?

“Superman, because he can do it all.”

If they made a movie about your life, who would play you?

“Matt Damon or Mark Wahlberg — Boston boys who have done well! I saw Wahlberg recently in ‘Lone Survivor’ and thought he was excellent.”
