Bruins raffling off chance to hit links with Shawn Thornton

By Jesse Connolly

Shawn Thornton will be hitting the links again this summer as host of his third annual “Putts and Punches for Parkinson’s” golf tournament. If you’re lucky enough, you might be one of his fellow players teeing off at the Ferncroft Country Club.

The Boston Bruins Foundation will be raffling off a spot for one B’s fan and his or her guest to play 18 holes with No. 22 on August 6 at the course in Middleton, Mass. The winner and their guest will also have the opportunity to mix and mingle with Thornton and other guests, and attend the post-tournament dinner.

All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and the American Parkinson Disease Association.

Before you start dusting off your old clubs or sign yourself up for a few practice rounds, make sure to buy your raffle ticket(s) first. They’re $5 apiece and can be purchased at www.bruinsraffles.org.

The raffles is open now and continues through Thursday, August 2, at 5 pm.
