Brion O'Connor – The Goalie Guru – is a hockey lifer and longtime freelance journalist. His love affair with the sport began with street hockey in New Jersey, and blossomed after his family moved to Manchester, N.H., in 1974. He has played ever since, with his career highlight being a scintillating 4-3 win over Congreve for the campus intramural championship at the University of New Hampshire in 1982. He has coached goaltenders for the past 12 years, and is on staff with Brian Daccord's Stop It Goaltending and Bertagna Goaltending. He also serves as a coach and board member for Agawam Youth Hockey on Boston's North Shore.

In addition to his work with the New England Hockey Journal, he covers college hockey for ESPNBoston.com. He shares a cottage in Hamilton, MA, with his wife, two daughters, a rambunctious Labrador retriever, two cats, and far too much goalie gear.
