NEWS & NOTES

* Prior to a 5-0 loss against Philly Tuesday, the Sens had won three straight and earned at least a point in five straight contests.

* The B's will look to extend their winning streak to five games, as Boston's coming off a 3-2, overtime win over the Blue Jackets Thursday night.

* This will be the first time the Bruins will be a Sens team that isn't captained by Daniel Alfredsson since 1999.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

* Throughout Tim Thomas' entire tenure as a Bruin, Boston regularly dominated Ottawa. That didn't change one bit with Tuukka Rask as the new No. 1 last season, as Boston won four of five contests against Ottawa. Rask's 4-1 lifetime against the Sens with a 1.77 goals-against average. Down the other end of the rink, Craig Anderson will look to improve on his 3-8 record and 3.45 goals-against average versus the Bruins. Advantage: Boston.

* Former Duck Bobby Ryan -- who B's fans once hoped would be traded to Boston, possibly for David Krejci -- has been tearing it up. The New Jersey-born winger has found tremendous chemistry with linemates Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur. Ryan saw his five-game point streak (3g, 6a) come to an end in Tuesday's loss to Philadelphia. Look for him to rebound, especially at home where he has 10 points in nine games.
