NEWS & NOTES

* The Bruins did not practice on Sunday following their 3-1 win in Columbus Saturday afternoon. With no morning skate today, we're just going to have to guess that Matt Bartkowski will stay in the lineup and Dougie Hamilton will be the healthy scratch.

* Daniel Alfredsson had a breakout game Saturday in Detroit's 5-2 win over the hopeless Flyers. The former Sens captain notched three assists. He had just one point in his first four games as a Red Wing.

OBSCURE STATS

Milan Lucic (4 pts last 4 GP)

Johnny Boychuk (2 pts last 3 GP)

Dennis Seidenberg (0 pts last 4 GP)

* Milan Lucic leads the Bruins with 13 hits thus far.

*  Johnny Boychuk has a team-high nine blocked shots.

Henrik Zetterberg (6 pts last 4 GP)

Todd Bertuzzi (2 pts last 2 GP)

Johan Franzen (0 pts last 3 GP)

* Justin Abdelkader is the only Wings player with double-digit hits (27).

* Nik Kronwall leads the team with 12 blocked shots.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

* When these two teams last met, the Bruins had the benefit of facing a Detroit team playing the second half of back-to-back games and their third contest in four nights. No such luck this afternoon, so I expect we'll a far more energized opponent.

* After going with Justin Abdelkader for most of last season and at the beginning of this one, the Wings have moved Todd Bertuzzi up to play on the right side with Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg. Big Bert, who's now 38, has 15-10-25 totals in 28 career games against the Bruins.

* In Columbus on Saturday, Brad Marchand received a major wake-up call, as No. 63 was demoted to the third line and remained on the bench for most of the second half of the third period. Let's see how he responds this afternoon.
