NEWS & NOTES

* The Bruins' recent penchant for failing to put together back-to-back wins continued yesterday, as they followed up a 4-2 victory down in Dallas with a 3-2 shootout loss to the defending Cup champion Blackhawks, dropping their record to 2-3-2 in the last seven games.

* During their last seven games, the Kings are 4-2-1. Los Angeles is also coming off a 3-2 shootout loss, which came at the hands of the Wings.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

* We should be in line for a nice duel between a pair of Olympic goaltenders. Rask shined against Finnish teammate Antti Niemi out in San Jose. Let's see if he can replicate that performance against Team USA's projected starter, Jon Quick (Hamden, Conn.). Quick, as highlighted above has fared quite well in his career against the Bruins. Rask, as you'll recall, was pulled the last time these two teams met out in L.A.

* Adam McQuaid has been felled by injury yet again, prompting the recall of Zach Trotman. It's unclear who Trotman will pair with in today's matinee. He had three shots on goal in his NHL debut in Ottawa Dec. 28.
