The Bruins and Isles have just wrapped up morning skate activities here at TD Garden.
Rich Peverley did not skate and will not play in tonight’s tilt. Coach Claude Julien said the winger is suffering from a minor, undisclosed injury. Peverley played on Saturday night in Toronto but will rest up this evening.
In his place will be Benoit Pouliot, who will skate alongside Chris Kelly and Jordan Caron on the third line. Pouliot last played on Oct. 27 against the Canadiens before missing the next three contests due to illness and as a healthy scratch.
Tonight will be B’s center Chris Kelly’s 500th career NHL game. Julien praised the veteran forward’s consistency, versatility and leadership abilities.
The Black and Gold essentially left the ice in unison this morning. Tuukka Rask was technically the first off, but it’s impossible to truly use that as proof he’ll be between the pipes this evening. However, now would be as good a time as any to utilize No. 40 again and hopefully get him his first victory of the 2011-12 season, something Julien alluded to during his press conference.
Evgeni Nabokov will get the nod for the Isles. He’s 1-2-0 with a 2.23 GAA.
