Morning Skate: Bruins vs. Devils

Hello from TD Garden where all A.M. activities have wrapped up. Here’s a rundown on the top stories for the Bruins and Devils:

Andrew Ference skated on his own before the team took to the ice. He’ll be out of the lineup for a second straight game.

Tuukka Rask and Tim Thomas left the ice at virtually the same time. Hard to tell who will be in net this evening.

Reports have stated that Ilya Kovalchuk would be out of the lineup again, but they might be premature. Some overheard chatter in New Jersey’s locker room suggested otherwise, while a few Devils’ scribes have tweeted that he’ll be a game-time decision.

Dan Paille, however, definitely won’t be ready for tonight. The winger said he possibly might be able to go on Thrusday when the Blue Jackets come to town.

Johan Hedberg is the confirmed starters for the Devils. He’s 4-8-1-1 with a 2.94 GAA in his career against Boston.
