Twenty minutes are in the books here at the Garden where the Bruins trail the Sabres by a score of 1-0.
Boston dominated the opening frame, outshooting, out-chancing and out-everything'ing Buffalo -- except, of course, outscoring.
Jason Pominville busted through the neutral zone, crossed the blue line and ripped one over Tim Thomas' left shoulder to make it 1-0 Sabres.
The B's had oodles of chances throughout the period, but Jhonas Enroth was very strong down the other end of the ice. He turned away strong bids from Benoit Pouliot (bakchander from slot) and Zdeno Chara (blasts from point) to keep the B's at bay.
The Bruins held a 9-5 edge in hits and 13-6 advantage in faceoffs.
Mike Mottau replaced Greg Zanon in the lineup for tonight's tilt. He saw 4:08 of ice time in the first period.
