Two periods are down in Jersey where the Devils have maintained their 1-0 lead over the B's.
Boston had just six shots on goal again, upping their total to 12 over 40 minutes of play. Quite simply, that's not going to get it done. Credit certainly goes to the Devils for squashing the Bruins' offense, but the B's have to be better.
The Bruins best opportunity caught iron in the middle frame. Benoit Pouliot hit the post less than 20 ticks after Steve Zalewski rang one off the bar down the other end of the ice.
So far there's just been a single power play on the night, which came 1:18 into the game when Nathan Horton was whistled for tripping.
The B's have won 23-of-41 faceoffs thus far, but they haven't taken advantage of that edge just yet.

Twenty minutes are in the books at the Prudential Center where the Devils lead the Bruins 1-0.
The seemingly ageless Petr Sykora scored the lone goal of the period with just 1:31 left in the frame. After an icing call against Boston, Sykora beat Dennis Seidenberg to a puck behind the net. His wraparound attempt beat a visibly dejected Thomas.
On the replay, it looked like Seidenberg held up a bit, showing hesitance either signaling that Sykora was holding his stick or to show the referee he wasn't guilty of hooking.
Greg Campbell and Brad Mills dropped the mitts at the 14:31 mark. With a few wild rights to close out the bout, we'll give the edge to Mills. New Jersey quickly had a number of quality scoring chances.
Prior to the Devils' tally, Andrew Ference was none too happy when Cam Janssen drilled him in the corner well after the B's d-man had gotten rid of the puck. Look to see if this plays a factor in the final two frames.
Brad Marchand made his return to the lineup tonight. No. 63 saw 5:33 of ice time and did not have any shots on net.
Tim Thomas looked much sharper than he did in last outing in Carolina.
The Bruins have had six shots on goal in the first period in three-straight games. That's a 6-6-6 string for a team squaring off with the Devils tonight. How cooky.
