BOSTON, MA - The Boston Bruins announced today that they have renewed their affiliation relationship with the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League.

Last season marked the second year Reading had served as Boston’s ECHL affiliate. Under the affiliation arrangements, the Royals will receive players designated for assignment to the ECHL within the Bruins professional development system during the upcoming season.

Reading will also again serve as the ECHL affiliate for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Bruins prospects including goaltender Michael Hutchinson, forward Yannick Riendeau and goaltender Adam Courchaine made appearances for Reading last season.

The Royals finished first in the Atlantic Division with 93 points last year, going 44-23-2-3 during the regular season.

After an opening-round victory in the playoffs, Reading was swept in the ECHL Eastern Conference semifinals by the Kalamazoo Wings.
